Cara's Biography

Cara brings to the stage more than 25 years in the entertainment business. She started in her  teens as a cabaret performer at major conventions in Toronto, Ontario. After finishing her degree at the University of Toronto in the School of Physical and Health Education, she chose the path of entertaining with a passion for singing. Cara began performing for live theme park stage shows at Canada’s Wonderland and Ontario place. With a solid show-business base, she won the comedic role in 42nd Street - a show which was full of tap dancing and song. Cara’s dance background lies in her mastery of the sport of baton twirling where she became a five-time Canadian champion and represented Canada at the world championships in 4 countries placing in the top 5 each time.

After a taste of musical theatre in 42nd Street,  Cara won a spot in the original Canadian Company of Les Miserables where she stayed with the company for 3 years performing over 800 shows. She played the part of Eponine  at certain performances and Cosette in her final year of the production.

Several musicals followed including The Phantom of the Opera (Princess Hannibal/Christine), Gypsy, and Big River. It was then time for a change. Cara became the Principal singer on the M.S. Windward cruise line; and then later on the Regal Empress where in addition to the ship’s production shows, she wrote, staged and performed her own one-woman cabaret show. She also performs children's shows as 'Jelly", a member of the Juno nominated children's group, Jam Sandwich for the past six years. Cara’s career has taken her to many countries including the United States, Germany, Egypt, Israel, Cyprus, England, Japan, the Caribbean and all across Canada. She performed for the late Princess Diana of Wales, twice, in two different countries. Cara played Ariel, The Little Mermaid in London, England’s west end defeating over 500 other hopefuls for the part. She has acted in motion pictures, and television with such actors as Bette Midler, Kathleen Turner, Mathew Modine, Jamie Foxx., Vivica A. Fox and Dennis Farina to name a few.

Now married with two children, she has been operating her own business, CC Entertainment, for 12 years, catering to corporate events, Seniors Probus Clubs, retirement homes, weddings and special events. Cara’s voice has more than a two and a half-octave range which gives her the ability to sing from pop, country and rock to jazz and musical theatre.
